Hoof care is a huge field with a lot of opposing viewpoints competing for the hearts and minds of horse owners and farriers. In my experience, black and white perspectives are far more useful for people than horses. I focus on individual horses and circumstances to adapt my strategy for each unique situation. This is especially important for a climate that poses many challenges for horse hoof health. I take into account the whole horse, changes in hoof conformation over time, and the needs of my clients. Ultimately, my decision making is driven by what will be best for the horse over the long term. I promise to discuss the considerations that go into my decisions, the options going forward and their plausible outcomes with my clients every step of the way. I pride myself on being receptive to feedback and perform best when my clients freely share their perspective and experience.
